Forget about Battery Charging: Xiaomi Phones will recharge by sun
Smartphone makers are working hard for innovative technology, like reverse wireless charging and now solar-powered. Discovered by LetsGoDigital, Xiaomi has filed design patent on July 27th, 2018 at World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), which will have integrated solar panel at the back. The patent included a few sketches but has not revealed any details or any expected date of launching.
According to sketches attached with patent no fingerprint sensor space on the back, means the phone will have an in-display fingerprint sensor. The design also lacks any housing for the selfie camera, suggesting Xiaomi might have plans to use its under-screen selfie camera.
Sketches of mobile also indicate that environmentally-friendly phone wouldn’t be much thicker than the current average phones.
Xiaomi has filed a patent for the solar-powered panel, but the idea is not very old. Companies like Samsung, LG had released their mobile phones in 2009. Phones like Guru E1107, Blue Earth S7550 also have a solar panel in the back. LG has also released a battery cover with a solar cell as an accessory for its smartphones.
